Carme Muñoz

Carme Muñoz is Professor of English Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at the Universitat de Barcelona and coordinator of the GRAL research group. Her principal research interests are in the fields of foreign language acquisition and bilingualism. She has directed a number of research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and has also participated in international research. Between 1995 and 2003 she coordinated the BAF (Barcelona Age Factor) Project (see the BELC Corpus at http://talkbank.org./data). She has taught courses in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Her most recent courses focus on individual differences in second language acquisition.

She has been vice-president of the European Second Language Association (EUROSLA), member of the International Committee of AILA and a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics (AESLA).

She is a member of editorial boards of international and national refereed journals: The Modern Language JournalInternational Review of Applied Linguistics; Language Teaching Research; Atlantis; Resla; Estudios de Linguística Inglesa Aplicada; Estudios Ingleses de la Universidad Complutense; Vial.

She obtained an ICREA Academia award in 2010 (for 2011-2015).
